Runaway groom, a small act.

The groom tries to run away from the wedding ceremony before the bride comes in. This is his final opportunity/chance. But, just then, father of the bride requests the groom not to leave, but stay back and marry his daughter.
This is the significance of 'kAshi yAtra', one of the main rituals in a Hindu wedding.

What would happen if the guy really runs away?

How about upgrading Kashi yatra to version 2.0? Call it IIM yaatra or US yaatra...
